Stacked Contingency

Why did one great ape lineage accumulate bipedalism, an expanded forebrain, articulate speech, and cumulative symbolic culture — while sister lineages did not? Hominin divergence modeled as a stack of independently low-probability events, not a directional or inevitable trajectory.
