Decoding the Sumerian Kings List
The Sumerian Kings List records eight kings ruling for a combined 241,200 years. This paper argues those figures are not myth but recoverable historical data — distorted by sexagesimal encoding, scribal error, and dynastic compression. When the sar divisor is applied, reigns reduce to 8–12 years each: normal for early city-state governance.
