Graffiti, Script, and the Brahmi Question

The origin of the Brahmi script remains contested among three hypotheses: Semitic derivation, Indus Valley lineage, and Tamil Nadu indigenous origin. This paper presents a comparative evidentiary assessment — testing each against the graffiti marks, inscriptions, and paleographic record — without presupposing any.
